Museum of Transport Location: Glasgow, G3, United Kingdom Project Value: £74 million Service: Structural design Team Client: Glasgow City Council Contractor: BAM Construct UK Ltd Architect: Zaha Hadid Architects Description The new Riverside Museum was designed by Iraqi-born British architect Zaha Hadid within the site of a former shipyard as a part of the larger Glasgow Harbour urban regeneration project. Housing a museum of transport with over 3,000 exhibits, the building has a 36 metre-high glazed frontage overlooking the River Clyde. Project Design Kashec collaborated with the UK office of the global engineering firm Buro Happold to carry out the design of the foundation for this scheme. It has a piled foundation with deep basement trenches required for the services.
