Kashec developed a system at the sea end of the linkspan to raise a section of the front end of the linkspan in order to cater for high free board of Stena HSS. This innovation developed by Kashec enabled the linkspan to be used for the conventional ferry as well as for the Stena HSS. Project Design Kashec provided full marine civil and structural design services for this scheme. The structure consisted of a 85 metre long integral pontoon and approach ramp designed using a box girder structural steel construction.
