Description
This
project
was
part
of
the
Maharashtra
coastal
Ro-Ro
connectivity project to facilitate Ro-Ro services.
The
scheme
consisted
of
the
construction
of
a
500
metres
long
breakwater,
a
214
metre
long
and
10
metre
wide
approach jetty and a 56 metre long linkspan.
Project Design
Kashec
provided
full
offshore
and
onshore
civil
and
structural design services for this scheme.
Tetrapods were used to protect the breakwater.
The
reinforced
concrete
approach
jetty
was
supported
on
piles.
The
integral
pontoon
and
approach
ramp
were
designed
using a box girder structural steel construction.
Part-way along the jetty a turning platform was provided.
