Description
The
construction
of
the
three
multi-level
flyovers
at
the
busy
College
of
Engineering
Pune
Square
was
planned
to
ease the traffic at this crucial junction.
The
total
length
of
the
three
flyovers
was
1700
metres,
which included a high level curved bridge.
Project Design
Kashec provided full bridge design services for this scheme.
We
designed
the
bridge
structure
using
an
integral
deck
construction
to
ensure
greater
durability
and
lower
maintenance costs.
The
bridge
deck
consisted
of
1.2
metre
deep
precast
prestressed beams.
The
construction
sequence
was
designed
to
minimise
any
disruption
to
the
traffic.
Launching
of
the
girders
was
mainly carried out at night.
