Description
The
construction
of
the
power
station
began
in
1963
and
it
became operational in 1971.
Wylfa
was
the
second
nuclear
power
station
to
be
built
in
Wales after Trawsfynydd in 1959.
Following
the
closure
of
Trawsfynydd
in
1991,
Wylfa
became Wales' only nuclear power station.
Project Design
Kashec
carried
out
a
structural
assessment
of
the
existing
structures for this scheme.
We
prepared
the
safety
case
for
hot
gas
release
scenarios
in
order
to
evaluate
the
adequacy
of
the
structures
subjected to blast loadings.
